EVENTS ALONG THE WAY

As we make our way to the SIFMA 2022,be sure to join in on our pre-events, all centred around a mix of classical, traditional and medicinal music in a way that illuminates one's love for the arts! We have exciting workshops, concerts and conferences leading up to the two big nights of music and arts, including Rhythms of Sarawak, Bamboo Ethnic, Choral Concert Night and Music Heals Conference.

Rhythms of Sarawak

It's never too late to learn music! Let us take you through playing the drums in a fun, supportive and comfortable atmosphere. Take part in Rhythms of Sarawak, a workshop on percussion and drums, on 24 November 2022 at the Old Courthouse Auditorium in Kuching and seize the opportunity to perform at Fort Margherita!

Bamboo Ethnic Workshop

Apart from the Sape, Sarawak's most iconic instruments are made of bamboo, creating incredibly beautiful and hypnotic sounds when played. Take part in the Bamboo Ethnic, a workshop on the making of bamboo instrument making on 26 November 2022 at the Old Courthouse in Kuching and don't miss out on the chance to perform!

Choral Concert Night

Bringing together voices from Dolce Chauticleer (led by Sabrina Tnay), Lodge International School Choir (led by Antony Wong), St Joseph Private School (Benedict Lo) and conducted by Sir Thomas Kuek from Singapore, SIFMA choir will draw you in with their harmony! Check out Choral Concert Night on the evening of 30 November 2022 at the Old Courthouse Auditorium.

MSMM Music Heals Conference

The Malaysian Society for Music in Medicine (MSMM) is back with the Music Heals Conference! Last held in Selangor in 2019, Music Heals focuses on the healing power of music through medicine, therapy as well as senior care. The two-day conference is set to take place at the Old Courthouse Auditorium from 1 to 2 December 2022 from 10am to 10pm. Stay tuned for more details!
